Utopia on a YACHT?

Here in Lexon Avenue, we are no strangers to dark, visible bags under our eyes. These potholes are not caused by stress or being half awake and half asleep while sleeping. These are a result of the many sleepless nights which we have been facing almost twice or thrice every single week.

I knew it was a mistake to buy a house here on the first day itself when we were all young and cheerful, and our parents, also young and cheerful like us. But, I do not have any idea how my parents could have fallen for a trap as easy to detect as is taking a lollipop from a baby, and they just ignored me when I told them it would be a bad idea and they would not even admit that fact until today. Our house is one of the best in this lane, and I am not bragging. It has windows, taps, toilets, lights, and bedrooms like every other house in the world but the thing that makes it unique is that it is located right on the shore.

You can say the house kind of looks like the one above but much much better...

Now you may ask how I can complain of having a house right on the shore. Well, it has some benefits, such as waking up every day to the sound of the distant waves splashing against the stony surface of the rocks or enjoying the sunset with a cup of coffee in your hand and all you can see is the deep, blue water of the ocean for miles in front of you. But, would you rather choose these over not being able to sleep?

One just like this...

I guessed not. So as I said, there are many more cons than the pros. But the most annoying is that every weekend, no matter the month or festivity, there is always a group of spoilt teenage children who own a YACHT named the Dot Calm. Can you believe it? They own a cruise ship at this age and they never seem to get tired of the innumerable parties and dances which they hold up there. Every time any event being held on that boat, there is a guarantee that no one in the neighborhood is going to sleep that night. They turn up the music so loud, that I even have a feeling that they enjoy annoying us. And as always, what annoys me, even more, is that my dad just says one word, "teenagers" every time they spoil our sleep. He is even starting to enjoy their music nowadays...

But today is a big day for all of us, especially my dad. Today, we have been officially invited to that same boat which gave us these black eyes. We are going to go there for the inauguration of my dad's company's FIRST SPACE CRUISER! It's a boat in space and it has not been revealed to anyone yet, not even the architect, as you know the habit of companies building up suspense. But today we are going to see for the first time, and also be able to enter the yacht owned by Mr. Boxantia. I guess you don't have any idea of who Mr. Boxantia is. He is the founder of Platonic, the company for which my dad works and also which probably would go down in history as the founder of space tourism.

The Space Cruiser which I imagined looks kind of like this one here

Anyway, as I was saying, this is a big event for all of us and my parents had bought me a dress just for this occasion. So, that evening, we got dressed in our best clothes and my mom even put on her best cologne which she only puts on when she really wants to create a good impression on people. I had put it on me once in my third year at school when we had a dance, but then I smelt like a girl so I had to spend the rest of the evening hiding in the bathroom.

We then drove to the harbor for the first time, and I truly realized just then that why my parents wanted to stay here. All I could hear was the crashing of waves and birds, although I could not see anything except blackness as it was night, I was pretty sure that whatever was out there was extraordinarily beautiful. In fact, I was so lost in that extreme serenity and calmness of the bay that I forgot that I was there for the party and my dad was very furious when they reached the entrance but could not find me with him. I thought he was going to scold me but he just smiled and said, "told you it was a good decision to not move anywhere else".

We walked slowly towards the entrance where we met my mom standing there, looking just as agitated as my dad or maybe even a bit more, but she calmy said "try not to do that again or else..." but her sentence was not completed as there was a loud horn near the back of the enormous vessel which indicated that it was about to start its engines. We hurriedly showed our invitations to the armed bodyguards standing outside looking as though they would actually shoot someone if they had to.

The guns look scary enough to scare away even the bravest man on Earth

As soon as we stepped into the hall, we were hit by a sudden beam of golden light which not only made us squint but also spread a warm, soothing effect on our bodies. It felt as though someone had just dipped us into a warm tub of aromatic water, as there was somehow also the fragrance of scented candles floating in through our nostrils. As our eyes adjusted to the light, we realized where we had just entered. We were in a disco.

I suppose we must have looked really stupid standing there with our mouths opens and staring at the ceiling, as soon a waiter (who was also dressed as fabulously as us), came walking up to us and asked us what we would like to drink.

My dad was taken by shock and he was left wondering what to order. "Ummm... what do you have here which is good?". The waiter acted as we had just said a really funny joke and all he could do was laugh. After a long giggle, when the man's face had turned a bright red from laughing so hard, he simply replied, "Looks like you guys are new around here. There is nothing in this boat that you can call bad. Everything is good. You just need to be a bit more specific."

Neither my dad nor my mom nor me had any idea what the waiter had just said. After a long silence, the waiter scoffed as though we were a bunch of clueless apes, just said "Welcome to Utopia, Sir" and strode away leaving us awestruck.

This story exists only in my imagination. This is not a real-life story as I have never been on a cruise. But I hope I matched your expectations.

P.S. Let me know in the comments if there is actually a street or a place called Lexon Avenue...
